KRU unveils new ice sports palace in Belovo

In anticipation of Miner’s Day, Kuzbassrazrezugol (KRU), the largest coal mining company in the Kuzbass region, has built a new sports palace with artificial ice in the village of Bachatsky (Belovo). The ice palace has been handed over to the Belovsky city district and will become a publicly accessible municipal facility.

This year marks 70 years of the Bachatsky open pit mine and 65 years of the village of Bachatsky, so this sports palace is a gift from KRU (which celebrates its 55th anniversary) to local residents, and especially children.

The ice palace includes a main arena with artificial ice and plastic rink boards for both hockey and figure skating. There is also a skate rental, a room for sharpening skates, locker rooms, showers and a spacious gym on the second tier of the arena.

The sports complex is designed not only for athletes and fans, but also for people with disabilities. In addition, local volleyball players will be able to conduct training in the sports palace.

Financial and organizational support of cultural, sports and social projects, charitable assistance are part of KRU’s activities in terms of corporate social policy.

KRU Overseas believes that KRU demonstrates a good example of the social responsibility of the coal mining company to local communities and welcomes its initiatives, aimed at developing sports and a healthy lifestyle among people and, above all, the younger generation of the region.
