KRU Overseas Limited (hereinafter – the Company) defines Corporate Social Responsibility as follows:
- Conducting business in a socially responsible and ethical manner;
- Protecting the environment and the safety of people;
- Supporting human rights; and
- Engaging, learning from, respecting and supporting the communities and cultures with which we work.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Standard includes the corporate social responsibility standards intended to favour a culture of social responsibility on a global basis, which contributes to the sustainable creation of value for society, citizens, customers, shareholders, and the communities in which the Company does business, equitably compensating all groups that contribute to the success of its business enterprise, and to make new investments considering their social return, generating employment and wealth for society with a long-term vision that achieves a better future without compromising present results.
The Directors of the Company have assumed as one of the basic premises for the success of its business enterprise to be the sustainable development of the communities in which it does business and the wellbeing of people: customers, citizens, and shareholders who contribute to achieving the corporate interest.
Along these lines, the Company’s social responsibility strategy seeks to place it at the forefront of best practices in this area, convinced that these aspects are a fundamental part of its strategy of excellent and to improve its competitiveness, apart from being a basic component for fulfilling its corporate interest.
Social responsibility allows the company’s business interests to be reconciled with the legitimate interests of the different stakeholders that may be affected, and also assumes the impact of the company’s activities on the community in general and the environment.
The present Corporate Social Responsibility Standard (hereinafter, “CSR”) intends to establish a reference framework, from which KRU Overseas Limited can develop and strengthen socially responsible behavior, regardless of the way the business is carried out and the country it operates in, locally adapting any actions that are necessary for compliance with it.
